A few days before Thanksgiving, my brother-in-law told us he had tested positive for COVID. His family had seen him go through the pain and agony of the virus. A week after, the whole family started experiencing the first symptoms of the sickness. Fever, aches, muscle cramming, shivers, throat sore, and shortness of breath among other effects of COVID-19. Within seven days, our parents were hospitalized. It has been 14 days since the first symptoms started and it seems like an eternity. We are living in pain, we can’t breathe, we are cold, we are trying to outstand the uncertainty of our parents' health. We are experiencing a new illness that came to be born in our time and humankind will remember this as a historical moment in 100 years yet to come.

When adopting a pet cat you may wonder if you want to have a female or a male cat. Separately they are both playful and great company, but together, they make the best combination.

Minino and Princesa like to spend most of the time together, they play, rest, and do everything together. Minino is much older, thus he has less energy and tolerance than Princesa.

In October 2017 I adopted a stray cat, whom we named Minino. He was around two months old. My son and I took care of him and welcome him into the family. Five months later, he was rarely home, he started going out and we thought he might not come…

A pet teaches a child responsibility, love and compassion. Gael had his first cat when he was three years old. He has learned how to treat a cat and that his pet is not a toy. Animals have feelings and they must be treated fairly and nice, otherwise, they will defend themselves.

When children harass cats, they try to hide or stay away from them, thus Gael has learn to let his pet Lechuga be free and to treat him nicely, that includes, not hitting him, not carrying him around against his will. Eventually when Lechuga wants to play, he will come forward.

In the last four years, Gael has had five cats and he has learned different aspects of how to take care of them, from feeding them, to bathing them, and to respect them.
